Royal Challengers Bangalore cruised to victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a must-win encounter after former skipper Virat Kohli registered a splendid century, his first in IPL 2023 and sixth overall. Former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan, who predicted a century from the batting maestro ahead of the game, revealed the thought process behind his prediction.
A full house crowd in Hyderabad were treated to a masterclass in batting after former Indian skipper Virat Kohli compiled a swashbuckling century, laced with his trademark shots, to help RCB bag two crucial points against SRH. Although he departed after breaching the three-figure mark for the first time this season, the visitors got over the line without breaking a sweat.
While the former RCB skipper came into the match on the back of two quiet innings, former Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan had predicted a century from the Indian batting megastar ahead of the toss. Following RCB's crucial victory, when his sibling Irfan Pathan asked about the thought process behind his century prediction, Yusuf quirked that Virat looked calm and composed before his innings, which is always a great sign for a batter before any crucial encounter.
Irfan took a cheeky did at his brother, labelling him as the 'new prediction king in town.'
Yusuf explained his reasoning saying he also used to calm himself before a high-pressure game during his playing days and it was the same with Kohli before the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Kohli's century meant that he has now registered the joint-most century in the competition, tied with former RCB teammate Chris Gayle with six centuries to each's name.
