Game 4 of the ongoing SA20 2024 featured a clash between MI Cape Town and Joburg Super Kings. Both sides faced off at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, January 13. The clash began with MI Cape Town coming in to bat first after winning the toss. The side got off to a wondrous start as openers Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton scored 104 and 98 runs, respectively. However, the rest of the batters could not amount to much.
Dewald Brevis was sent packing for five runs, Liam Livingstone added 12 runs on the board, and skipper Kieron Pollard scored nine* runs as MI Cape Town posted a total of 243 runs in the first innings. As for Super Kings, Nandre Burger was the highest wicket-taker with two wickets to his name. Lizaad Williams, Romario Shepherd, and Imran Tahir struck once each.
Mammoth target proved herculean for Joberg Super Kings to handle
Aiming to chase down a target of 244 runs, Joburg Super Kings got off to a horrid start in the SA20 2024 encounter as their top-order failed to get runs on the board. Skipper Faf du Plessis only scored six runs, with Ronan Herrmann adding nine runs and Reeza Hendricks getting sent back to the pavilion for a duck. After the top order's failure, it was the knock of Leus du Plooy that stabilized the innings for Super Kings. Scoring 48 runs in 24 deliveries, Plooy played a resilient knock.
Furthermore, Romario Shepherd added 34 runs on the board, with Donovan Ferreira scoring 14 and Moeen Ali adding 11 runs. Joburg Super Kings posted 145 runs on the board before they were bundled out. George Linde and Olly Stone were the highest wicket takers for Cape Town with two wickets each; Beuran Hendricks, Kagiso Rabada, Liam Livingstone, and Sam Curran took one wicket each as MI Cape Town won the game by 98 runs.

The only concern for MICT this game will be how Brevis, Pollard, Livingstone and SCurran could only take them to 243 after being 200 in 15 overs.

If any two of those 4 can find some form moving forward no other team looks as strong as @MICapeTown. #SA20 #JSKvMICT
Faf said we thought we would be chasing 300 😂 But we read the conditions wrong, and we know what to do from here on is the message from the loss. Watch out for our comeback 😎🏆💛 #JSK #JSKvMICT #SA20

From start to finish, totally dominated by MI Capetown.
Outbatted, outclassed, outplayed, out everything- they also got us all out for 145.
