Mumbai Indians' star opener Rohit Sharma has registered his name in the record books yet again, becoming the first Indian batter to reach the prestigious milestone of 500 sixes in T20 cricket. This remarkable feat came during MI's IPL 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings, further strengthening Rohit's status as one of the most destructive batters in the shortest format of the game.
Heading into the match, Rohit was just three sixes away from the coveted 500-six mark, and the stage was set for a historic moment. The opener, known for his ability to clear the boundary with ease, did not disappoint his fans as he smashed three towering maximums off the bowling of Ravindra Jadeja, Tushar Deshpande, and Mustafizur Rahman to reach the landmark.

Rohit Sharma achieves another unique feat in T20 cricket
Rohit's achievement is all the more impressive when you consider the elite company he now keeps. Before this feat, only Chris Gayle (1,056 sixes), Kieron Pollard (860), Andre Russell (678), and Colin Munro (548) had reached the 500-six milestone in T20 cricket. Rohit's ability to consistently clear the boundary ropes has made him a nightmare for opposing bowlers, and his tally of 500 sixes in just 432 games shows how destructive a batter he is.
Moreover, Rohit has now crossed the 5,500-run mark for Mumbai Indians, cementing his status as one of the franchise's all-time greats.
